Meet baby Mia!!!

What a sweet doll!! Mia was such a daddy's girl already! She had had her shots the day before our session and wasnt feeling that great, but when daddy was holding her she was so happy! She had the sweetest little girl nursery and I could tell already that she was so loved by her mommy and daddy. Thanks Amy for letting me come take pictures of your sweet angel!

Meet the Ellis family!!!

Amanda called me to schedule a session for her boyfriends mom for a present. They all live in different areas (TN and NC) and were all meeting in Gatlinburg for a weekend in April. We decided to meet in Cades Cove and shoot there. What a fun family they were! I especially loved Blake's impression of the power ranger moves! I also managed to get some shots of Amanda and her boyfriend Jon. Thanks Ellis family for letting me tag along on your vacation with you for a day!

Trash the dress!!

This past fall I went to Corey McNabb's Rockstar wedding photographer workshop. I met Zac Thomas there. He is just starting his wedding photography business and we talked about a trash the dress session. This is where after brides get married they put their dresses back on and literally trash the dress! I was totally game! I drove over and met him in downtown Asheville and had a blast! We tried to find the dirtiest places to photograph in and found some really neat spots. I think I enjoy being in front of the camera as much as I love being behind the camera! :)Check out his slideshow of me on his blog:

Meet baby Riley!!

Brandi called me and scheduled an appointment for this past Sunday to come photograph her family. I love walking into my clients homes because I always feel like we've been long time friends. Meeting Brandi and her family felt just like that! Riley had just woken up when I got there and we started taking pictures of mommy and Riley while daddy showered. I hope that I get to meet big brother Dylan this Spring or Summer! Thank you Brandi and Dallas for making me feel so welcome in your home and letting me photograph sweet Riley!

Welcome to the world Reid!!

Welcome to the world Reid! You have so many people that already love you and cant wait to watch you grow! This is a trifold birth announcement that I created for Laura.

Reid's birth!!

Laura called me on the morning of January 10th and told me that the doctor had admitted her and was going to give her some drugs to help get her labor started. I arrived at the hospital around 240pm and they had just finished giving her an epidural. Laura looked amazing! She had (as always) makeup and hair to the T! It wasnt long before she started feeling pressure and the nurse returned to check her. It was 400pm and she went to get Dr. May to deliver! I was beside Laura, camera ready! No matter how many birthing session I do, I am still amazed at how different each one of them are. Dr. May came in asked Laura to give him a half push and Reid came sliding out. I swear I wouldnt believe it if I hadnt been there! Laura was talking to me to whole time and I was clicking away! Crazy!! Laura and James thanks for letting me be there when Reid took his first breath. I am always grateful to see new life born into the world. :)

A wish for some warmth....

As I sit in my house sipping my hot tea and staring outside, I find myself drifting and dreaming of the warm days of summer. I decided to take a break from editing and glance thru some pictures from this summer to try and help lift my cool spirits. I came across these wakeboarding pictures and they made me feel the warmth of the sun again. Hopefully, they will you too!
